Havanese
The Havanese is one of the most rare companion dogs, by his looks and his naughty eyes he
became a heartbreaker.
Character
They are very intelligent, and are
easy to learn to be obedience. It's a small breed without known falseness, they are brave
and alert, despite of that they don't bark without reason.
The Havanese are very fond of people and likes children, they are very good swimmers. The
Havanese have a joyful character, and they will let you know when they want attention.
Coat
The Havanese don't lose their
hair, the coat is easy to keep in good shape, once or twice a week is enough to keep the
coat without tangles.
Their coat is various from smoothly wavy until curly, the Havanese don't need a haircut.
The colours are white (rare), cream, champagne, blue, silver, Havana brown or a combination of
those colours.
The eyes are black, with a naughty expression, the nose is not snub nor pointed, a black
nose is required.

The shape of their body is a little bit longer then they are height, the ribs are good
curved.
The Fédération Cynologique Internationale (F.C.I.) standard for the Havanese is height between 23(21) and 27(29) cm
Origin
There are many opinions about the
origin of the Havanese. Some people are convinced that they are breed from the Italian
Bolognese and the South American Poodle.
Another opinion is that the Havanese is breed from the Bichon Maltaise. In either way the
trail to the ancestors lead us all the way back to Cuba.

Very rare breed
